Looking for a special way to keep your loved ones or furry friends close to your heart forever? I'm Linda Cope, and I transform precious memories into everlasting pieces of art. I specialize in creating custom portraits, working primarily with oil—my personal favorite—though I'm also skilled in acrylic and pencil. My aim is to capture the true spirit of my subjects in every piece.
My artistic journey took root at the esteemed Columbus College of Art & Design, where I majored in Fashion Illustration and Retail Advertising. With a Master's in Marketing from Webster University, I blend creative flair with strategic insight in my work.
Drawing from my career sketching fashion and homestore illustations in the art departments of former retail giants, L.S. Ayres, Famous & Barr, and Macy's, I have developed a deep passion to continue my love of drawing and painting figures. I strive to encapsulate the essence of each subject, ensuring it's cherished for generations. My portrait
While my style is showcased in these examples, I'm always open to exploring an abstract approach with less detail and more vibrant colors. I love doing that!!
Typically, portraits are 9" x 12" on professional-grade archival canvas, 1 3/4 " gallery-wrapped and finished with a protective varnish to ensure longevity. Although the creation time is 4-6 weeks, plus an additional two weeks for drying, I always aim to surprise you by finishing earlier. However, due to family health reasons, delays may occur.
Commissioning a portrait with me guarantees a timeless piece that honors the most significant people and moments in your life. I use only the best materials, including Weisbrandt (my favorite German brand), Windsor & Newton, LUKAS 1862, Soho Arts, and Gamblin paints and varnishes, to bring your portrait to life.
As a proud member of the Portrait Society of America and the American Society of Portrait Artists, I'm dedicated to excellence.
